Answers to Your Questions

Is Oriana Academy similar to an apprenticeship?

Oriana Tattoo Academy is a state-licensed tattoo and body piercing school led by professional tattooists and body piercers. Unlike traditional apprenticeships, which can be unstructured and lengthy, our academy offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip you with all necessary skills in a focused timeframe, ensuring you're ready to start your professional journey upon graduation.

What are the enrollment requirements for Oriana Academy?

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or GED, or pass a Wonderlic test, and have proficiency in English. While not mandatory, a basic understanding of drawing principles and a passion for art are highly recommended.

Will I receive a license upon completing the course?

Yes, upon successful completion of the course, you will be fully licensed in the state of Florida to begin your career as a tattoo artist and/or body piercer. Out-of-state students should verify licensure requirements with their local authorities. We provide a transcript of accredited hours and a certificate of completion to support your licensing process.

What job prospects can I expect after graduation?

The tattoo industry is rapidly growing, providing numerous opportunities for our graduates. While we can't guarantee employment, we offer job leads and connections to studios nationwide through our extensive network, helping you find the right fit for your career.

Will I practice on real clients during my training?

Absolutely! Our curriculum includes hands-on experience with real clients under expert supervision, allowing you to build a substantial portfolio and refine your skills on actual skin, not just practice materials.

What are my career options after getting licensed?

Licensed graduates have various career paths, including:

  • Working as independent contractors in studios.

  • Renting booth space in existing tattoo shops.

  • Venturing into medical tattooing.

  • Opening your own tattoo studio. We provide guidance and support for those considering any of these options, ensuring you have the knowledge and resources to succeed in the industry.

How many students are in each class?

We maintain small class sizes with a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1 to ensure a focused and supportive learning environment, allowing for personalized instruction and mentorship.

Does Oriana Tattoo Academy offer scholarships or financial aid?

Yes, we offer several scholarships, particularly for hardship cases. Additionally, we provide private student loans tailored to our courses and have partnerships with local financial institutions offering loans to qualified students.

Is there an option for continuing my education as a tattoo artist once I am licensed?

These opportunities help you stay updated with the latest trends and techniques in the industry.
